Tell us about your project

A few details, two rough measurements and six photos from your phone. From those, we design and price your deck in 3D, before anyone visits.

  • Designed and priced before anyone visits
  • Rough is fine: we confirm every number on site
  • Your address stays private

What we need

Three things. Rough is fine.

  1. The basicsYour name, phone and email, and how you’d like us to reach you. A new deck, a replacement, or adding on. And the address: only for the visit and the permit, never shared.
  2. Two rough numbersHow far along the house and how far out, plus the height from the ground to your door.
  3. Six phone photosHeld sideways, with one wide shot of the whole area. Exactly which six is below.
Helpful, never required
  • How you’ll use it
  • Timing
  • A budget range
  • Where the stairs go
  • Decks you love
  • A sketch with numbers
The back of a house, marked about 40 ft along the house and about 8 ft from the ground to the patio door
An example: about 40 ft along the house, about 8 ft up to the patio door.
Rough measurements

Two numbers are plenty

Along the house, and how far out
e.g. “about 20 ft along, 14 ft out”. No tape? One big step is about 3 ft.
The height to your door
From the ground to the door sill, or to the old deck’s surface. e.g. “about 44 inches”.

We confirm every number on site, so nothing has to be exact.

Six photos from your phone

Exactly which six

Held sideways. Here’s an example of each.

1
From the back door, looking outAs if you’re stepping onto the deck.
2
One wide shot of the whole areaFrom the far corner, looking back: the yard, the wall, the doors and windows. Step back, or use the 0.5× lens.
3
Along the house, both waysOne looking left, one looking right.
4
The height at your doorGround to the door sill. A tape in the photo helps.
5If there is
Anything in the wayThe AC unit, gas meter, vents, hose bib, low windows.
6If replacing
Replacing a deck?Underneath it, the stairs and the boards, up close.
